2. What size of safe do I need?

This one’s pretty obvious, right? Right!

3. Location.

This ties directly into the size of your safe. Will you walls be able to support the weight, or are you going to have to go with an on-floor (or in-floor if you want it hidden) safe?
What are your walls made of? A wall composed of drywall and studs is going to leave your safe vulnerable to being torn out of the wall by a burglar who has some determination and the right set of tools.
If you’re going with the in-floor option, will your joists support its weight? Do you have in-floor heating elements?

4. Insurance.
